We have driven past this place a million times and seen their sign that reads "World's Best Spaghetti" and have thought "yeah okay, sure..."Then we got gift cards from a friend for this place for Christmas and so we had a good reason to finally stop in and try. They weren't lying...The dining room is very intimately spaced and has a warm cozy ambience. It reminded me a little of Tocqueville, a fine dining restaurant in Manhattan whose owners I used to work for. It's not a huge space but the walls are adorned with large canvases of carefully curated artworks and there is a lovely stone walled fireplace. The bar area is separate from the main dining room and it is the kind of place where you are supposed to be seated closely to your dining companion so that you may speak quietly and hear each other while still being respectful of your neighbors. The staff is exemplary in their friendliness, menu knowledge and engagement.Basically, imagine a fancier Olive Garden but no fuss and far less noise. They have unlimited house salad and bread and garlic bread! All made in house and FRESH!Now then the main reason for going in...They were NOT lying. Their homemade Spaghetti is among the best I have ever had. It is heavily egg based just so you know... and it really is spectacular. And it was still piping hot when it got to our table so that's how you know it was made to order and had just been plated from the pot.Their portions are sizeable as well.Try their Fried Mozzarella! We also liked the Christmastini! Well...I liked it, though my other half said it could have been a little sweeter and a bit less strong. It tastes like a candy cane Manhattan... with a crushed candy cane rim.All in all it was a great meal in a lovely space and for sure they made believers out of us.Brava Maplewood!
Great food. 5 Stars.Professional wait staff.I will be back again for sure!Perfect meal! The secret is now out! This food will make you come back for more.I like the variety of food available on menu. Not so much a bring your kid place. It's more adult atmosphere at their bar, go out on date night,& couples place.Went to the Hammonton location.
Always good! This visit was only to purchase gift cards as stocking stuffers for Christmas. At this time of year, Maplewood has a deal where if you buy five cards of equal value, you receive a sixth of the same value for free. To make it even better, you can use the cards at any of their three restaurants. This was not always the case.
Delicious food! Great environment! Our waitress Victoria was the best! I felt a little like a Karen when I didn’t like my first entree. She immediately took it without hesitation and brought me a new one!! She also took multiple pictures of my husband and I when asked. Everyone seemed extremely friendly and we will be back with friends!
Chris the general manager was the best! We had an issue with our meal and he corrected it and made the experience enjoyable. There was an issue with our order and chris corrected it and took care of our dinner. Would highly recommend this restaurant! Chris the general manger is truly about customer service. Food is delicious.
Fantastic dining experience at the Maplewood! Tonight we had seafood classics, stuffed shrimp and shrimp with broccoli over pasta and they were both cooked to perfection. Fried calamari appetizer could have been a little crispier for our liking but it was very tender, included a few hot peppers too and great marinara sauce.Nice selection of desserts and we opted for Tiramisu and Chocolate Cake, our favorites! We are regular patrons now and highly recommend the Maplewood for your favorite Italian specialties, fresh seafood and steak. They also handle takeout online orders extremely well, and we’ve never had a wrong order or cold food.
Amazing place to eat! Our waitress Ashley was outstanding! The food was some of the best food I have had in a while. The portion sizes were great and worth what it costs! The drinks were exceptional as well. The only downfall was the wait but they were slammed and I understand why! It was worth the wait and I would donot all over again, no question! You will not be disappointed!
All of our meals were outstanding. This is a real Italian experience with very traditional meals that taste home made. Our waiter made the experience very special and I thank him for making this a great night out.Only downsize, they need to learn how to estimate your wait time, off by 50%. Next time we make reservations. We will diffently be returning.
So I am officially mad. At myself. Best cowboy Riley I have had in Atlantic county without question. Baked potato and the house salad. Can't miss. Lived in Atlantic county for almost last 10 years and have passed this place hundreds of times first visit. Won't be my last.
Food is Def 5 stars but I had 2 edit my previous comment cause this is the 2nd time we were shorted bread like come on I was told a salad comes w/bread but apparently only 3 loaves per order!! I only ordered a salad cause I wanted the bread if not I would have just gotten my soup which normally comes with crackers but we didn't get them either!!! We ordered 5 salads an entree n 7 soups for 10 ppl we should have gotten more bread!!!
My boss loves coming here for Happy Hour when he is in town and I have finally tried it for myself.i get why he likes it. Good food, good price and live music. I have to say it is very good. Portions and selection of appetizers was very good. My friend and I ordered a few different items to share and it was great for 2 people. The bartender was friendly and attentive.I have been to the Hammonton location for dinner and that was good. I will definitely be back not only for Happy Hour but for dinner.P.S. sorry for the dark photos but the bar has mood lighting and the actual bar has a built in light.
We decided to try this restaurant since the winery we visited was completely booked! Well it was 100% worth the trip!! It also came highly recommended. The staff was super friendly, the food was absolutely delicious and the lunch specials on the back of the menu was a pleasant surprise!! 🥰 Can’t wait to go back!
We found this by accident using Google maps, I rarely ask maps for restaurants. We were looking for somewhere to eat between the shore and the PA turnpike. We are not familiar with the area. We are so glad we stopped! Very nice atmosphere, nice service and fantastic food! Quite a few options. A nice way to end the day after a gorgeous boardwalk day.
Wow, after driving around looking for a new restaurant to try the wife and I ended up here. Let me tell you it was everything we hoped for and more. The food was delicious with house made pasta. I cannot stress enough how friendly and attentive the entire staff was. Our waitress was top notch, and the other servers were friendly greeting us as we walked to our table. This will certainly be a go to for our household!
Outstanding from start to finish.Service, food, atmosphere. We eat out a lot!!Fresh, hot, timely.Don’t find scungilli on the menu much any more.ExcellentSalad, bread, and garlic bread great!Stuffed flounder and Calamari and crab dish great! Will be back for sure for other dishes. Our friends have sung their praises and they are right!
Best Italian food in New Jersey and in my opinion the country, been coming here with my family since I was little and the food has always been the same quality of perfection, the inside is also very nice with decor and the staff are always very kind and attentive.
Fallon was our bartender, waitress and server. She was the most attentive, personable waitress I have ever come across. If you have an “employee of the month” I’d recommend she get that recognition. I watched her handle the bar, the tables and the customers with grace and promptness. She is an asset to your restaurant!
I haven't been here in years since I moved away. And it hasn't changed, super service from the hostess to the waitress. The food was fantastic and not crazy expensive. We got there at 830 on a Saturday night, immediate seating and fast service. Highly recommended
Went on a Sunday around 4 had a 5 minute wait to be seated. After my husband and I sat and looked over the menu we patiently waited for our server. 20 minutes went by and she finally showed up. We placed our order including appetizers and drinks. Shortly the salad and bread arrives but still no drinks. I see the server and reminded her and a few minutes later we had drinks. Again did I say it was busy. We knew that we would be waiting a bit longer then normally so we were fine with it. But than it went down hill from there. 45 minutes later, no appetizers and no server in sight and than finally she emerged with our entrees. So I asked her where are the appetizers and she looked confused and than she said we are so busy and the cooks are moving slow..what does that to do with my appetizers? I asked her did she place the order and again looked at us as if she had no idea what I'm talking about. Long story short the food was ok considering that they were busy but the service was horrible. Nothing worse than watching people come after you and get served by the same server receiving appetizers and entrees in order. I believe she never put the order in. I will go back and I will asked not to be seated at her stations.
Grace, our server was wonderful! The clams casino, though not how I am used to them with peppers, onions & bacon, were delicious with only bacon and cheese. The calamari was beautifully done with a nice crunch, not bathed in grease, and deliciously tender. There were a few fried cherry pepper slices in the mix for those who like heat. Along with the slightest hint of heat in the red sauce provided for dipping. The homemade pasta was delicious and cooked al dente. The plain red gravy with two large meatballs as well as the three meat bolognese were absolutely delicious. Lastly, the cheesecake with raspberry sauce and the canoli (2 large) were a great way to top off the meal. Although my husband and I felt like we needed a wheelchair service to exit 😉, we still both have enough left over to repeat the meal sans the clams casino! 5 YUMS up!
Everything was excellent from the table bread, to the drinks, to the entrees, to the desert. Service was also outstanding and on top of everything the entire meal. I’m a picky eater when it comes to Italian and would come back here again without question
